
In February, our daughter Annistyn broke her humerus when she fell off a snowmobile in New York. After a visit to a local urgent care and an X-ray, we were referred to Nemours Children’s Health, Lakeland—and from that moment on, everything was handled with such care and compassion.

One thing that truly stood out to me as a parent was how they spoke directly to Annistyn about her care. They didn’t just talk over her—they talked to her, explained what was happening in words she could understand, and made her feel like the priority. That simple act gave her confidence and made her feel like a part of her own healing journey.

Another moment we’ll never forget happened during one of her follow-up appointments—on the same day my husband was in a head-on collision. When I explained the situation, the Nemours team didn’t hesitate. They got us in and out, completed her X-rays, and had us on our way in under 20 minutes so we could be with him. Their compassion and responsiveness during such a stressful moment meant the world to our family. Thanks to the incredible care at Nemours, Annistyn is now fully healed and back to her fun, active, and adventurous self. We will forever be grateful to the team who supported us through it all—with skill, kindness, and heart.
